Durable rigid insulation foam board for Minneapolis and St Paul
Forms that go up faster. Board that outlasts the building.
Monolithic slab forms, under-slab board and continuous exterior insulation from one supplier. Made with 85 percent post-consumer recycled polystyrene, rated 40 to 100 psi, and delivered to the Twin Cities on our own trucks.
Three products, one delivery
The same board and the same recycled content. What changes is where it goes on the job.
Monolithic slab forms
Eco Form is the form and the insulation in one piece, with ninety degree corners already made. Nothing to strip after the pour, nothing to haul back, nothing warping in the yard until the next job.
Under-slab insulation
Board under the whole pour, so the slab stops giving its heat to the ground. 40 to 100 psi, and a crew can run a power buggy straight across it without wrecking the sheet.
Continuous exterior insulation
One unbroken layer outside the framing, covering the studs, plates and rim joist that cavity insulation cannot reach. R-5 per inch in 1, 1.5, 2 and 3 inch.
The new standard
Built to be better.
ECO 40 is remarkably tough, with the strength to handle up to 4x the load of standard 25 psi foam. It is built for demanding jobsites, delivers R-5 per inch, and is made with 85% post-consumer recycled polystyrene. So you get a stronger insulation board while putting recovered material back to work.
Pick the grade the job calls for
Every grade is the same 85 percent recycled XPS at R-5 per inch, in 1 inch through 3 inch, with a butt or shiplap edge. What changes is how much load it carries.
Homeowner and lumber yard
Eco 25/30
The grade most homeowners and lumber yards buy today, in our recycled XPS. In production for spring. Everything below is the target specification and will be confirmed on release.

Eco 40
The grade that changes how a crew works. At 40 psi you can run a power buggy or a mini skid steer straight across the board without wrecking it, so you keep your pour reach and lose the pump truck. Ordinary 25 psi board does not survive that pass.

Commercial and heavy load
Eco 60
Built for the loads that crush ordinary board. Parking structures and fire halls carry heavy trucks over the slab, and 60 psi is the grade specified for it. Flexural strength jumps to 131 psi over the 40 grade.

Minneapolis questions
Do you deliver to the Twin Cities?
We deliver across the Upper Midwest on our own trucks. Minneapolis is a scheduled run rather than a next-morning one, so tell us your pour date and we will give you a firm delivery date with the quote. If the timing does not work we will say so rather than let you find out on pour day.
How much exterior insulation does a Minneapolis wall need?
Less than the same wall in Duluth. Minnesota is not one climate: during the state energy code review the technical advisory group placed the Twin Cities in Climate Zone 6A and the northern counties, St Louis County among them, in Zone 7. The 2024 IRC lists R-7.5 over a 2x4 and R-11.25 over a 2x6 in Zone 6 where a Class III interior vapor retarder is used, against R-10 and R-15 in Zone 7. Those are minimums for one compliance path, and your designer sizes it against the whole assembly. Anyone quoting the same thickness for Minneapolis and Duluth has not looked.
Is this the same product you sell in Duluth?
The same board, the same grades, the same specifications. What changes between the two markets is how much of it a wall wants, not what it is.
Can you quote a full foundation package?
Yes. Send the engineered plans and we will do a takeoff covering the forms, the foam, the rebar, the lumber and the poly, minus the plumbing, and put it on one delivery.
Does it meet ASTM?
ECO 40 is listed to ASTM C578-19 Type VI and the board is ETL certified. This is the question we are asked most often, so the full test data is on the grade pages rather than behind a download.
Where are you based?
Duluth, at 5904 McQuade Rd Suite 10, Duluth, MN 55804. The board is manufactured by Eco Carbon Foam in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and stocked here in Minnesota. People assume the stock sits in Canada. It does not.
What customers say
Trusted by the crews who pour the concrete
Five out of five across every Google review, from contractors across the Upper Midwest.
I have used them and their materials several times. Not only is their material far better than their competitors but the service is as well. I was in a jam and Caleb hand delivered what I needed within the hour. I highly recommend.
Amazing product! It is the only foam we will use beneath our concrete. It performs far better than its direct competitors at a similar price. Service has been excellent, and our materials always show up on time.
EFS is a top-notch supplier. Their high-density eco foam is an excellent new product, strong, clean, and reliable. Great quality materials and service we can count on. Highly recommend.
Eco foam in my opinion is the only foam worth using. The quality and strength of the foam impresses me every time I work with it and use it. I will be using Eco foam for all of my projects. [excerpt]
Best foam on the market. Great service and fast delivery.
